Sporting Clays Phase Two Plan

The Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Center will begin phase two operations for Sporting Clays and the reopening of Wobble Trap on Tuesday, August 4th. Reservations for Sporting Clays will be accepted via phone beginning Saturday, August 1 st from 10 am to 5 pm. Sporting Clays Options

Option # 1

  • Sporting Clays reservation time slot with trapper pulling targets for squad up to five shooters. If staffing levels permit, a trapper may be assigned to individuals or family members who wish not to shoot with other Sporting Clays shooters.

Option # 2

  • Sporting Clays reservation time slot for “pull your own” targets for squad up to five shooters.
  • Sporting Clays shooters will be able to use their own Promatic card with existing targets or purchase more targets to be loaded onto card.
  • Clay target shooters will be asked to bring and use their own disinfecting wipes, mask, and gloves to each Sporting Clays station. Sporting Clays shooter will be asked to show their PPE when checking in at their reserved time slot.*
  • Shooters will be required to wear clean gloves and/or to utilize hand sanitizer while wearing gloves prior to touching/using the pull controller. * If needed, the Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Center will provide to each Sporting Clays shooter antiseptic moist towelettes and a pair of clear plastic disposable powder free multipurpose gloves.

Reopening Wobble Trap

  • Wobble Trap will be open on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Controller must be operated by Trap and Skeet staff. No “pull your own”.
  • A modified Wobble Trap target sequence will be used.
  • There will be only four shooting stations open.
  • One-way direction rotations will be utilized to maintain social distancing.

Patrons will also be reminded to adhere to CDC, State, Commission, and AAFD guidelines on managing the potential spread of infectious diseases to include the use of face coverings while not shooting and maintaining social distancing.

WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE YOU COME PLAY

  • Staff and customers will be encouraged to stay home if sick, especially if they experience symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Social distancing is required and will be monitored.
  • Hours of Operations:
    • Mondays: Closed
    • Tuesdays - Sundays: 10 am – 5 pm
  • Our facility will be regularly disinfecting all “touch points” with powerful cleaning agents.
  • Our facility will be outfitted with hand sanitation devices.
  • Face coverings are required to be worn by both staff and customers to gain access to our clubhouse.
  • Activities will be limited to Trap, Skeet, FITASC, wobble trap, and Sporting Clays only.
  • Currently, the CDC’s recommendation for Social Distancing prohibits staff from directly assisting inexperienced shooters
  • Experienced shooters ONLY will be allowed on fields and stations.
  • Sporting Clays reservations required. For squads and available flight times:

  • Visitors must have their own shotgun.
  • Shotgun rental will not be available.
  • Lessons are not available.
  • Cash will not be accepted at check-in / please bring a credit card or debit card.
  • Golf carts will not be available at this time.
  • Customers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and hand sanitizer.

WHAT TO EXPECT / FOOD AND BEVERAGE OPTIONS

  • All snack areas and vending machines will not be available.
  • Please bring your own water bottle.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE COURSE

  • We ask guests to please maintain social distancing while on any fields, stations, and on course.
  • Enter fields and stations only with field attendants.
  • Please do not touch controllers, pull cords, and equipment on field and stations unless you have reserved a “pull your own targets” reservation and have the required personal protective equipment (gloves) and disinfecting wipes.
  • Do not touch other players’ equipment.
  • BE SAFE and Have FUN!

  • All players are asked to dispose of their personal trash.
  • Social distancing is required and will be monitored.
